Welcome to my Classroom!
A little history about me:
I am a graduate of Ashford High School. I continued my education at Troy University receiving my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Following graduation I worked at Flowers Hospital in the Human Resources and Accounting Departments before I took the Business Teacher position in my current hometown of Cottonwood. I have since obtained my Masters Degree in Business Education and could not imagine going anywhere to work other than CHS. I love it here and I love teaching my material. Business skills transfer to so many different careers and paths our students take, from typing skills to personal finance, and I am very passionate about ensuring our students success in those areas following graduation.
I teach a variety of classes as an elective teacher each year. These include-
Business Technology Applications (basic Computer skills)- the goal in this class is to certify students as a Microsoft Office specialist in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Business Technology Applications Advanced (Advanced Computer Skills)-the goal in this class is to certify students as a Microsoft Office specialist in Microsoft Excel and Access.
Multimedia Design- Students will learn to create media online using digital cameras, videos and editing software. We also use 3D design modeling software
Accounting- Students learn basic accounting procedures and terminology and learn to use Intuit QuickBooks Software for online accounting.
There are many more classes that can and will be taught in the future, these are just a quick sample of what is available in our Business Program.
Our Goal is to graduate students who are prepared to enter into the business workforce or related field with the skills necessary to be an asset to their employer and community.
